Creamed corn is one of our favorite ways to enjoy corn year round. This steak house style creamed corn is an easy side that is delicious and perfect with a juicy steak. We keep frozen corn on hand at all times and when I have left over heavy cream…you can count on me making this side. It’s creamy with a hint of sweetness. It’s definitely not like canned cream style corn…give it a try the next time you are in need of a quick and simple side. You won’t be disappointed. Besides, how can you go wrong with sweet corn, heavy cream and a touch of butter?
Creamed Corn
Cook time: 15 mins Serves: 4
½ C heavy whipping cream
½ C milk (I use non-fat milk and it works great)
½ tsp salt
1 Tbs sugar
16 oz bag of frozen whole kernel corn (sweet if you can find it)
1 Tbs butter
1 Tbs all purpose flour
1/8 tsp black pepper
Directions:
- In a large pan on medium high heat, add heavy cream, milk, salt and sugar. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil and add frozen corn. Bring to a boil again.
- In a separate small sauce pan, melt butter and add flour. Stir to combine. Add flour and butter to corn and stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium and cook until it begins to thicken. Turn off heat, add black pepper and season to taste.

That looks amazing! I’ve never made my own creamed corn – and there is no doubt me and my husband could polish that bowl off too!
