Tate’s Bake Shop Giveaway

tate's bake shop assorted cookie gift pack

It’s the holiday season and we are excited to announce our first giveaway in conjunction with Tate’s Bake Shop.  Tate’s Bake Shop is located in South Hampton, NY and has earned much recognition for their cookies and cakes.   They sent us the Tate’s Bake Shop Cookbook and three boxes of their cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and macadamia nut) to sample and provided another set to giveaway to one lucky reader.

I can’t think of many better things that remind my me of the holiday season than giving and receiving something special.  We certainly enjoy this time of year when the ovens are fired up and the holiday baking begins.  Quyen has already scheduled her annual cookie exchange and I am looking forward to enjoying some wonderful homemade treats.  The Tate’s Bake Shop’s Cookbook is filled with wonderful cookies and other dessert recipes to put to use in creating your own holiday cookie trays to share with your friends and family.  The chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and macadamia nut cookies are buttery and crispy with a homemade appeal to them.

My favorite all time cookie is the snicker doodle but my most sentimental cookie of the season is the Mexican Wedding cookie. They remind me of my Mom, they are her favorite special occasion cookie. She is not a baker by nature but will venture into the kitchen just once a year to make these special bites of joy.

Old fashioned chocolate chip with walnuts. I prefer chunky chips that are semisweet and/or bittersweet. I like the nutty taste it gives off.

My favorite cookie that my sister and I always make during the holiday season would have to be an old neighbor’s recipe called “lemon whippersnappers.” They are super easy: lemon cake mix, half a container of cool whip, and and egg, rolled in powdered sugar! Light and chewy! But macaroons come in at a close second!

My all time favorite holiday cookies are simple – my Mom and I use the left over homemade pie crust and cut them into festive shapes, of course adding fresh jam (mmm raspberry) and fold over the edges. Nothing reminds me of the holidays with my parents when I’m home from college more!

(and of course I’m already a fan of Tate’s Bake Shop on facebook, how could I not? I love the store in Southampton! When i found out they sold the cookies here in Boston right near my school I was ecstatic! )

I would say that Tate’s Chocolate Chip cookie is consistently my favorite. And for a store-bought cookie, mallomars 😉

Soo….. this kitchenrunway site is sure fun! I love making new dishes for the family. When I read the comments about the dish of likes and dislikes, it gives me thoughts of how to deviate if needed to fit my families tastes.
    Thanks for sharing!

My favorite holiday cookie is tie between peanut blossoms and Russian tea cakes. Both of these I enjoyed making with my mother and know I make them with my daughter. Also like both tate and kitchen on fb and following on twitter.

I never thought about what my favorite holiday cookie is but I would have to say that I really enjoy simple cookies with a strong ginger element during the holidays. Something about ginger and cinnamon make it really just feel like Christmas! 🙂
