I made these marshmallow pops for my friend Christine’s baby shower. She and her husband, Michael, are expecting their first baby. It’s a boy and I’m so excited for them! I was so happy to be part of the group of girls throwing the shower. We worked well as team and put together a lovely shower that I hope Christine and her guests all enjoyed! I was in charge of decorations while Ji was in charge of food. A crazy part of me wanted to do it all because I’m insane like that and tend to put more on my plate than I should. I’m so glad the girls convinced me that decorations and shopping was going to be more than enough to do. (Whew!)
Christine and Michael are avid hikers and love the great outdoors. They mentioned that they wanted to decorate the nursery in a “woods” theme. I knew this was the direction I wanted to go. At the time I didn’t know how difficult it was to find baby related woodland themed goods. There were tons of safari baby things with giraffes, elephants and lions and of course sports related goods. I quickly learned that the lack of creative options was probably the reason why a lot of baby showers have generic “baby” themes. We charged on – making most of the decorations by hand. It was fun and I can’t wait to throw the next baby shower. Woothoo! (I think I need atleast 3-6 months to recover though.)

Like I said...it's real hard to find woodland critters...so bust out your needle and thread and start stitching!
While you're at it - stitch up some owls too. I love the herb plant from Trader Joe's. It definitely added a "woodsy" element.
You can find the kits to make these stitched felt animals at Michaels. They also carry kits to make bears as well.
I love the idea of signing a book for the baby. It's a baby shower - gotta have the onesie clothes line!
To wrap the water bottle, peel off the original label first. Use that label as a guide to measure and cut out paper to cover the bottles. I used double sided tape to attach the labels. I then used double sided tape to add the owl and raccoon to the bottle.
The napkins and bamboo forks are eco-friendly. I also found bamboo spoons, eco-friend solo cups and plates at Party City. They all matched the woodland color theme and I was just in love with the bamboo forks and spoons! They’re reusable which is great!!
One of the other girls make the diaper cake (Yay for Sally) and I helped decorate it. The squirrel and birds are from Michaels.
I love the wood serving plates and the fondue pot was a hit! (Pictured in the bottom left is Ji - the girl behind the food & delicious gourmet gelato!
I really need to look into getting a gelato maker! YUM!! I'll have to ask Ji to share her recipes!
Okay….How to make these super easy Marshmallow Pop favors:
Ingredients:
1 bag of large marshmallows
1 bag of candy melts (color or flavor of your choice) You can find this at Michaels or Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts
Sprinkles and M&Ms
6 inch lollipop sticks
Foam or Styrofoam block
bags and ribbon, optional
Directions:
- Stick the lollipop about half way through the marshmallow and set aside. (make as many as you will need – I made 24 for the baby shower)
- Fill a coffee mug about halfway with candy melts. Heat according to directions on bag. (I heated it up at 50% power for about 1 min. then at 30 sec intervals until candy melts are melted and smooth) Make sure to stir between heating. I use a coffee mug because it retains heat and it’s deep enough for me to dip the marshmallow in.
- Dip the marshmallow straight down into the candy melt, about half way down. When I lift the marshmallow I slightly twist the lollipop so that the excess candy melt wraps around the top.
- Quickly sprinkle with decorative sprinkles and top with a M&M. Stick into a foam block to dry.
- You can wrap them up individually if you wish.

Hi there! I love your idea of the marshmallow pops and thinking of doing it for my sons bday. What did you use for the tags, I like the owl print. My son is into lions and monkeys thanks hope u reply
Hi Tricia: I’m sure the pops will be a hit at your son’s birthday party! One of the co-hosts had a friend design the tags. I printed them and then used a circle cutter to punch them out. Lions and monkeys would be super cute!!
This recipe was VERY EASY to follow, the directions were so CLEAR and Precise, you can’t go wrong! And I am by no means a “baker”/”cook” or anything of that nature. I actually had a lot of fun being creative with the colors, and people really loved them! I made them as a Mothers day present for classmates, coworkers and family. They were a huge hit, thank you!!
